Cobb IT Firm To Add 200 Jobs

Infosys already employs 350 people in the East Cobb area.

An Indian firm that specializes in information technology consulting is expanding its work force in Cobb County. At today's First Monday breakfast of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Infosys BPO Ltd. formally announced it would be adding 200 jobs to its current operations located in East Cobb. Infosys, based in Bangalore, India, employs between 60-100 people at the Wildwood corporate complex. According to The Marietta Daily Journal, Infosys also employs 250 more people on Powers Ferry Road after purchasing McCamish Systems in 2009. The new jobs will "support the Infosys Business Process Outsourcing subsidiary" and will be added in the Cumberland Mall area, according to a report on GPB.com. The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will hold recruiting events Monday and Tuesday to help CarMax Auto Finance and Allied Barton Security fill a number of jobs in Cobb County. The sessions will be held at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. On Monday, March 4, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., CarMax Auto Finance will be recruiting customer service representatives and collection agents. The staffing company, which will be recruiting several experienced workers to manage medical staffs, will discuss the locations of the offices during the recruitment process. The company will be recruiting wire technicians to install and maintain the U-verse integrated digital television, high-speed internet and voice services system. The Georgia Department of Labor will assist Solid Hires and the Veterans of Foreign Wars with a career expo for veterans and other job seekers Wednesday. Titled “Hire a Hero,” the expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the VFW Post 2681, located at 140 Powers Ferry Road S.E. in Marietta. A team of military résumé writers from Washington, D.C., will be on hand to help the veterans prepare their résumés. The Georgia Department of Labor will help RGIS Inventory Service and a Kroger grocery store fill about 20 jobs here in Cobb County this week. On Wednesday, RGIS, an inventory and data collection agency, will be recruiting 10 part-time inventory takers. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. First, GDOL officials will assist Sam’s Mart/Shell Gas Station in filling a number of retail jobs in Sandy Springs. The recruitment will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, located at 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. The company will be recruiting a store manager, assistant manager and several sales associates and cashiers.
