Kroger Customers Support MDA's Shamrocks Program

West Cobb Kroger stores will spread the luck of the Irish by participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Shamrocks program through Saturday.

Atlanta Division Kroger stores, including those in the West Cobb area, will spread the luck of the Irish by participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Shamrocks program through March 30. Kroger customers and associates can show their support for MDA by purchasing and signing $1 green and $5 gold mobiles at any of the 213 stores in the Kroger Atlanta Division. The mobiles are displayed on ceilings and walls, helping to decorate stores and create a St. Patrick’s Day atmosphere in support of the annual fundraising campaign to benefit individuals and families affected by muscle disease. “Each year, the Muscular Dystrophy Association gives more than 1 million Americans affected by muscle disease hope by funding lifesaving research," …

Need a Job in Cobb? GDOL Recruiting This Week

Officials from the Georgia Department of Labor’s Marietta office will be helping two companies fill jobs this week.

The Georgia Department of Labor will help RGIS Inventory Service and a Kroger grocery store fill about 20 jobs here in Cobb County this week. On Wednesday, RGIS, an inventory and data collection agency, will be recruiting 10 part-time inventory takers. The recruitment will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center, 465 Big Shanty Road in Marietta. Applicants must have a résumé, be at least 18 years old, able to travel and stay overnight, and use a calculator or 10-key audit to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure with whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Man Robbed While Napping in Parking Lot

The 41-year-old Powder Springs resident was dozing at a Norcross Kroger when someone approached and demanded money.

A 41-year-old Powder Springs man was allegedly robbed with a supposed gun about 2:45 p.m. on May 11 while in his car in a Kroger parking lot outside of Norcross. According to the police report, the man decided to take a nap in his vehicle before heading to his second job. He was asleep at the Singleton Road business when an older-looking man approached his open window. The man asked him if he wanted to buy something, and the driver said he didn't have any money to spare. The man outside the window then pulled out a brown paper bag from his pocket, poked it in the driver's left shoulder and demanded money.
