Dallas Man Suspected in Cobb Burglaries

Kevin Duane Duckworth was arrested on charges that include seven counts of burglary.

A Dallas man is behind a string of thefts in Powder Springs, according to the police department in that city. From nearly two weeks, Kevin Duane Duckworth allegedly went into new homes that were for sale or under construction, and removed dishwashers, microwaves, stoves, light fixtures, construction materials and more.  The thefts, according to a Cobb County criminal warrant, began between 5:30 p.m. April 4 and 9 a.m. April 5 at a home in the 5100 block of Vansant Trail. A dishwasher was removed from that home. Subsequent thefts: Authorities executed a search warrant on Duckworth's Dallas residence, where they found most of the stolen items, according to the warrant. Two Charged in Zaxby’s Robbery

In addition to the robbery of the Powder Springs restaurant, the men face charges out of Hiram as well.

Powder Springs Police detectives have charged two men in connection with the Feb. 7 robbery at Zaxby’s on Brownsville Road. The initial report detailed that a white man entered the business as it opened and demanded cash from the employee. That man then fled on foot toward the parking lot behind the business where he got into a waiting vehicle and fled the scene. According to a news release Friday, 46-year-old Stanley Ray Chastain and 40-year-old Scott Ray Chastain, both of Douglasville, have been charged with robbery in connection with the incident. Powder Springs Police and Hiram Police detectives worked closely during this investigation as similarities, such as the suspect vehicle and M.O., were found with a Feb. 6robbery in Hiram. …

Armed and Dangerous Suspect Wanted in Connection with Area Robberies

In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint.

An Atlanta man considered armed and dangerous is wanted by the FBI for a series of armed robberies, including two in Cobb. Michael Jerome Winfield, 46, is accused of multiple armed robberies at metro Atlanta locations and most recently a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo in Tucker, according to the Marietta Daily Journal. In Cobb, Winfield is accused of robbing two gas stations at gunpoint. He reportedly stole several cartons of cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash in an armed robbery at the Walgreen’s off South Marietta Parkway around 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 8. Smyrna is charging Winfield in connection with a Feb. 9 armed robbery at a BP gas station off Cobb Parkway. Winfield is also wanted by the Alpharetta Police Department for a Feb. 11…
