Emily Bowman lies in a hospital bed in Athens Regional, recovering from severe injuries she sustained in a hit-and-run accident on Feb. 16. The man suspected of hitting her, and then leaving the scene of the accident, is William Wilson Heaton, 22, of Cartersville. He has yet to be arrested but does have an attorney who has been in touch with Athens Clarke County Police, according to a story in the Athens Banner Herald. Read more on Athens Patch. A Grady High School student who is accused of shooting herself on school grounds earlier this week was granted bond Thurday afternoon. The YouTube video called "Daniel's Bar Mitzvah - Save The Date" was published on February 1st and currently has over 134,000 views. Gov. Nathan Deal announced Monday that he is signing an executive order that accepts the State Board of Education's recommendation that six DeKalb school board members be removed. The State Board of Education voted late Thursday night to recommend the removal of six members of the DeKalb School Board to Gov. Nathan Deal. The board voted unanimously to recommend that Sarah Copelin-Wood, Donna Edler, Eugene Walker, Jay Cunningham, Nancy Jester and Pamela Speaks be removed from the DeKalb school board. If Gov. One man was injured and taken to Atlanta Medical after apparently attempting to drive around the warning signal cross bar and over the train tracks in downtown Douglasville this morning, according to Capt. A reworked series of indictments was issued on Tuesday afternoon in the murder trial of Andrea Sneiderman. Oconee County law enforcement officials were at an East Haven Trail residence early Friday investigating a suspected methamphetamine lab, according to an email to media from Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Lee Weems.
