The Acworth baby allegedly kidnapped by an acquaintance of his mother has been found safe following a car chase in Henry County, Bartow County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jonathan Rogers said.

Eight-month-old William Kaidyn Stover was in the backseat of his mom's car around midnight Tuesday when Samantha Nicole Barrett, 22, of Marietta, allegedly stole the car.

Rogers said the baby was in good condition with no injuries, despite the car chase that ended with Barrett's arrest. In Bartow County, Barrett will face charges including kidnapping and theft by taking, Rogers said, adding authorities aren't sure of her alleged motive.

Although she has ties to both Cobb and Bartow counties, Barrett is not related to the boy or his mother.

Barrett will face "a lot of charges" in Henry County related to the chase, according to Rogers. She, the child and the mother had been to several houses and possibly a store in the Acworth area prior to the midnight kidnapping, Rogers said.
