No Big Winners in $196-Million Powerball Drawing

The jackpot will be even bigger for the next drawing Wednesday.

The Georgia Lottery's website reports that no one matched all five numbers along with the Powerball in Saturday's drawing, so the jackpot will roll over for the next drawing Wednesday.

As of Sunday afternoon, the jackpot for Wednesday night's drawing was estimated at $235 million.

Three tickets sold in Georgia matched four numbers and the Powerball, with each winning ticket good for a $10,000 prize. Those wins were the biggest ones in Georgia for Saturday's drawing.

According to the Georgia Lottery's website, the winning numbers for Saturday, July 27, were 9, 23, 40, 53 and 58 and Powerball 6.

Lottery officials as of 1 a.m. Sunday had not announced whether or not anyone matched all six numbers drawn in the Saturday night drawing.

The jackpot for Saturday’s Powerball drawing has grown to $196 million. 

The Powerball jackpot has grown since June 26 and has rolled nine times, Georgia Lottery spokeswoman Kimberly M. Starks said in a statement.

Powerball offers two jackpot payment options: 30 graduated payments over 29 years or the $113 million cash option.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play.
