Powder Springs Set to Celebrate Independence Day

Powder Springs residents won’t have to drive far to see some Fourth of July fireworks.

The city will hold its 18th-annual Independence Day Celebration Thursday, July 4, in town square, 4488 Pineview Drive. The entire event is free but reserved seating will be available; those interested in such seating should call 770-423-1330.

The festivities will begin at 4 p.m. with Scott Thompson performing an acoustic set. The GLOW Band, which performs pop songs, R&B, disco and more, will take the stage at 6:15 and 7:45 p.m. The event also will feature “music, fun and games” in between the three scheduled musical performances.

A patriotic program will commence at 9:15 p.m., with the fireworks estimated to start at 9:45 p.m.
